John W. Jacobs, President and CEO

John has served BBBS for more than 30 years beginning as a caseworker with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sedgwick County in Wichita, Kansas. While there he received several promotions with increasing responsibilities including the positions of recruitment coordinator and associate director. In September of 1989 John became Executive Director of Big Brothers and Sisters of Green Country in Tulsa, OK where he assumed leadership of an underdeveloped program struggling with budget issues and falling service levels. Under his leadership, agency service levels grew from 75 to more than 1000 matches served annually while cost per match decreased significantly. Currently he serves as the president and CEO of the statewide organization.

Sharla Hall, Vice President for Resource Development

Sharla has served in development positions at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art in Shawnee, Oklahoma; as Associate Director of Institutional Advancement at St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee and as Development Coordinator at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Her most recent position was as Development Manager at the Philbrook Museum of Art. Her responsibilities included developing, coordinating and implementing comprehensive and fully integrated development strategies.

Barbara L. Sorochty, APR, Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Barbara's experience in marketing and public relations spans more than 30 years, having served in senior positions in higher education (St. Bonavture and The University of Tulsa, public broadcasting, healthcare (HCA Wesley Medical Center and Manatee Memorial Hospital) and social service agencies including the American Cancer Society (Florida Division). She is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America. Barbara has won more than 70 awards for programs she developed and those under her supervision. She currently is a Big Sister in the school-based program.

Anne Lisko, Vice President for Program Services

Anne has a long history with Big Brothers Big Sisters starting with an internship during her student years at The University of Tulsa, and continuing with her work as case manager and coordinator of collegiate programs for the Tulsa office from 1999 to 2003. After employment with an adoption service in Baltimore, Maryland, Anne returned to Tulsa to assume the position of Director of Program Services for Green Country. She served as director until her promotion to BBBSOK VP for Program Services. Anne serves on Big Brothers Big Sisters of America's task forces for Child Safety, and the School Based Enhancement Model. She also works with the national Native American Mentoring Group. She has been a Big Sister for the past five years.
