Life for many children today is not easy and your financial contribution will make a difference for children in Oklahoma. Independent research has proven that our professionally supported matches between carefully selected volunteers and children in need DO make a difference. Children matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister for at least one year are less likely to begin using alcohol or drugs, less likely to be involved in acts of violence, less likely to skip school, do better in school performance, and get along better with family and friends.
Your financial gift will help us...
- Provide a mentor for more Oklahoma children who need and want one.
- Cover the costs associated with child assessment interviews, volunteer screening interviews and background checks, and selecting the best mentor for each child to ensure the highest levels of child safety and the best possible Big/Little match.
- Provide training materials to assist volunteers in developing effective relationships with the children with whom they are matched.
- Provide group activities and special events for the Big/Little matches, that provide for activities and opportunities they might not otherwise be able to access.
On average it costs us $500 to make a new Big/Little match and $1000 to support one match for one year. Your generous contribution will help us provide another Oklahoma child with the One-to-One mentoring friendship they need. Your tax-deductible gift will help an Oklahoma child become a competent, caring and contributing member in the town or city where they will live, work and play.
Many companies in our state, as well as parent companies of subsidiaries located in Oklahoma, will match the charitable gifts of their employees.
